The Journal of Environmental Medicine is devoted to publishing high-quality original papers that relate to the field of environmental medicine and its related disciplines and that focus on the adverse effects on humans of external physical chemical and biological factors in the general environment primarily from a medical standpoint. Emphasis is placed on the identification prevention diagnosis and management of adverse health effects in humans related to the physical (eg noise radioactivity electromagnetic fields) and chemical (eg pesticides heavy metals asbestos) contamination of outdoor and indoor air soil or water (ie toxic causes in a general sense) where exposure may occur in the work or home environment or during leisure and transportation activities. The Journal aims to provide a scientific forum for medical doctors and health professionals who are interested or involved in the identification medical diagnosis management and prevention of human health disorders related to hazardous environmental exposures including the identification of susceptible patient groups risk analysis and regulatory implications. All other aspects of environment-related health issues will be considered for publication in the Journal provided they are medically orientated. Review articles original papers and short reports will be accepted for publication following peer review. Contributions must not have been accepted for publication elsewhere except in the form of abstracts given at scientific meetings.
