Hop and Medicinal Plants was founded in 1993 as the journal of “The Hop and Medicinal Plants Research Center” of the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca. Until 2008, the journal published articles in Romanian, with an abstract in English. Starting with year 2008, to increase the international visibility, all articles were published in English. For providing the rigors of a modern scientific journal, the scientific value of articles has been warranted by the competence of the editorial board. At present, Hop and Medicinal Plants is a peer-reviewed, biannual, open acces journal, aimed to publish scientific articles with a focus on hop and medicinal plants ecology, physiology, natural product chemistry, pharmacological activity, farming technology, plant protection (diseases, pests, weeds), genetics, plant breeding, biotechnology and uses. Articles must demonstrate new scientific insight, original technologies or new creations that have general application and relevance.
