The Journal of Water Security (JWS) has been established as an Open Access journal to be the international forum for exchange of scientific knowledge between academia, industry and policy-makers in order to increase security of society and environment in respect to handling of water resources. JWS publishes papers on water science, technology, management and innovation with emphasis on water quantity and quality, advanced (methods in) water engineering, water policy and economics. Both engineering, technological, behaviour, organisational aspects these bring about new generalisable knowledge are accepted. Topics: Water physics and chemistry; Water cycle and climate change; Water demand and consumption; Applied surface and groundwater hydrology; Modelling of water resource systems; Irrigation and drainage; Droughts and flood control; Hydrodynamics and sedimentation; Hydroinformatics; Aquatic environment; Water monitoring; Water quality and its management; Environmental restoration; Water supply and purification; Water sanitation; Water legislation and cost savings; Water safety planning; Social aspects of water use. We accept full-research papers of a theoretical, computational and experimental nature as well as critical review and case studies. We also encourage the submission of other types of papers which would benefit the community: concept or design studies, negative results, instrumentation, or site data reports, for example. Journal is issued semi-annually. Articles are published in English.
