Mesoporous Biomaterials

Published/Hosted by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co. KG. ISSN: 2300-2271.

Mesoporous Biomaterials is an international, peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research, as well as authoritative review and opinion papers dealing with the main issues in the use of porous material properties, including new fabrication approaches, and reporting the advances of these materials in photonic, electronic, optoelectronics, and biomedical applications. The journal welcomes theoretical and experimental papers on all aspects ranging from fundamental sciences to commercial applications. Overall, Mesoporous Biomaterials is devoted to the publication of research results regarding porous solids classified as mesoporous (pore size 2 to 50 nm). Typical examples include (but are not limited to) mesoporous silica and silicon materials, zeolites and zeolite-like materials, organic/inorganic porous hybrid materials, porous metal oxides, and porous metal-organic frameworks. Both natural and synthetic porous materials are within the scope of the journal, as long as their properties have a specific application (e.g. as biomaterials). A biomaterial is defined as a substance that has been engineered to interact with biological systems. It can also be used for any therapeutic and/or diagnostic applications.
