The volume “Scientific papers, series D, Animal Science” represents a professional journal from the agricultural sciences field, being published by the Faculty of Animal Science within the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest, on the occasion of the International Scientific Communications Session, which takes place yearly. The first volume of the journal was published in 1959 and it has kept on being published for 55 years, period when it gathered the original scientific contributions of the teaching staff from our country and from abroad, as well as of the specialists in the field, resulting in the insertion of the journal in the international data basis, such as CABI, DOAJ, EBSCO, Ulrich's Periodicals Directory. Within the journal, articles and researches can be found, being structured on 6 sections, namely: Genetics and breeding; Nutrition; Reproduction, physiology, anatomy; Technologies of animal husbandry; Technologies of the agro food products processing; Wild life management, fishery and aquaculture. Since 2000, the articles have been elaborated in English, this facilitated the journal distribution in famous universities and research institutes from abroad, due to international exchanges.
