The International Journal of Bio-Engineering Sciences and Technology is a research journal publishing original full-length research papers, short research papers (notes), reviews, and Letters to the Editor. The Journal is devoted to the advancement and dissemination of knowledge concerning fermentation technology, biochemical engineering, food technology, life sciences and microbiology. The objectives of IJBEST are to establish an effective channel of communication between researchers and practitioners, government agencies, academic and research institutions and persons concerned with the complex roles of biomedical engineering and technology. It also aims to promote and coordinate developments in the field from the laboratory bench to the patient’s bedside. Healthcare is a global industry; the international dimension is therefore emphasised in order to facilitate the development of solutions that have a universal focus.
