The series contain theme collected articles and highly specialized monographs prepared by the research workers of the History Department of the Saint-Petersburg State University. The journal reflects the scientific interests of the department. 1st volume deals with the problems of economic, political and sociocultural interaction of the centre and regions in Russian history. The 2d one is devoted to the 55th anniversary of professor Yu. V. Krivosheev. The 3d and 4th ones were monographs: I. B. Mikhailova "Townlets of Southern Russia in the 8th-beginning of the 13th centuries", O. A. Barynina "The Russian study of the Byzantine Empire at the turn of the century: the Russian-Byzantine commission (1918-1930)". The 5th volume is devoted to the 80th anniversary of doctor of history, professor, academician of the RAS Boris Vasiljevich Ananjich.The title is "History of Russia: economics, politics, man". The 6th issue is "The Russian Antiquities". It is devoted to the I. Y. Froyanov’s 75th birthday. The 7th one "The Royal court in England of the XV–XVII centuries" is an examination of the late medieval and early modern royal court in England from institutional, political, instrumental, and ceremonial background.
