The aim of WJCID is to report rapidly new theories, methods and techniques for prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and nursing in the field of infectious diseases. WJCID covers topics concerning aging and infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, emerging infections, food safety, healthcare epidemiology, HIV/AIDS, immunocompromised hosts, medical microbiology, anti-infective agents, travel medicine, vaccines, and infectious disease-related traditional medicine, and integrated Chinese and Western medicine. The journal also publishes original articles and reviews that report the results of infectious disease-related applied and basic research in fields such as immunology, physiopathology, cell biology, pharmacology, medical genetics, and pharmacology of Chinese herbs.
