Mutations are permanent, transmissible changes to the genetic material of the cell, either in nature or experimentally by the use of chemicals or radiation. The Journal of Carcinogenesis & Mutagenesis focuses on the recognition of cellular responses to DNA damage, apoptosis (cell death), including the inactivation of tumor suppressor genes, and analysis of carcinogenic process by genetic and epigenetic alterations in genes for the study of cancer initiation and progression.
