Fly is the first international peer-reviewed journal to focus exclusively on Drosophila research. Fly covers a broad range of topics in which Drosophila is used as a model organism. We strive to become a definitive resource for every researcher working with Drosophila, providing a forum where the specific interests of the Drosophila community can be discussed. Fly offers a variety of types of papers, including Original Research, Methods and Technical Advances, Brief Communications, Reviews and Meeting Reports. In addition, we invite authors of the most relevant recent and forthcoming papers published elsewhere to write what we call “Extra View” articles, in which they provide a short summary of their research and include additional insights, new interpretations, or even speculation. These manuscripts may include data or models, which due to space limitations were not included or discussed in the original paper. In other words, the authors may provide biased and uncensored points of view, complementing their article.
