The journal Sport Sciences for Health publishes reports of experimental and clinical research on the physiology and pathophysiology of physical exercise with special focus on the mechanism through which exercise can prevent or treat chronic-degenerative disease, contributing to health maintainance in the population. Original contributions on biochemical, physiological, pathophysiological and clinical aspects of research on physical exercise in the prevention of diabetes mellitus and insulin resistance syndrome, cardiovascular diseases, inflammation, some forms of cancer are welcome as well as studies identifying the ñdoseî of physical exercise suitable for prevention and the ñdoseî suitable for treatment of specific diseases, for the different sport activities. A pharmaeconomics forum, which publishes contributions on effects of prevention, programs based on physical exercise on health maintainance costs, is also available. Reports are published in the form of original articles, short communications and letters to the Editor. Invited reviews and editorials are also published. Finally workshop reports are also welcome in Sport Sciences for Health.
