Contemporary Issues and Ideas in Social Sciences is a web journal open to all academics and researchers in social sciences. Contributions on any economic, political or social topic of contemporary relevance would be welcome. The main purposes for which this journal is being launched include encouragement of research on neglected but important problems, whether theoretical or empirical; systematic and rigorous exposition of the full implications of some of the mainstream theories which have been propounded or have become important in the last few decades; and formulation of a critique of the current mainstream methodology, as well as demarcation of areas and identification of domains where mainstream methodology may be relevant and useful. The journal has started publishing from January 1, 2005.
