The European Journal of Mental Health, a peer reviewed professional journal established in 2006, is published in English and German by the Semmelweis University Institute of Mental Health. The journal's professional oversight is provided by two Editors-in-Chief and an international Editorial Board, assisted by an Advisory Board. In order to facilitate professional communication between East and West as well as within Eastern and Central Europe, abstracts are also provided, in addition to the primary languages, in Croatian, Czech, Hungarian, Polish, Rumanian, Russian and Slovak. The semiannual journal, with issues appearing in June and December, is published in Budapest. EJMH is a European organ with a window to the whole world, but it is especially committed to the promotion of cooperation between post-socialist countries. The aim of the journal is to draw attention, in addition to the protection of individual mental health, to the communal and social context and to present the role human disciplines other than psychology and psychotherapy (education, sociology, theology, arts etc.) play in the protection and promotion of individual and community mental health.
