Prison Law Reports

ISSN: 1750-189X.

Prison law, though established as a distinct area of law, is a field which is still growing. This is partly because the statutory framework is skeletal and is copiously supplemented by policy and guidance documents, which are often subject to challenge by judicial review. There are many cases each year where points of law are argued in the High Court and above, but only a minority are reported. Prison Law Reports brings all cases relating to prison law together in one place and will be of interest to criminal lawyers. The reports include the full text of cases from the High Court, Court of Appeal and House of Lords relating to all aspects of prison law, together with a summary. Cases from the European Court of Human Rights are also covered. There are often more than 50 cases a year of which around 75% are unreported elsewhere. The editor, Kris Gledhill, has appeared in several leading prison law cases.
