Education for Chemical Engineers
Educ Chem Eng

ISSN: 1749-7728.

Education for Chemical Engineers aims to be the principal international journal for the publication of high quality, original papers in chemical, process and biomolecular engineering education. Papers are invited that address any aspect of chemical, biomolecular or process engineering education. These may relate to undergraduate, postgraduate or continuing education. Papers showing how educational research results can be used in chemical engineering education, and accounts of research work bringing new perspectives to established principles, highlighting unsolved problems or indicating directions for future research, are particularly welcome. Learning from international comparisons and experience will be an especially important feature of the journal, as will be new approaches to lifelong learning within the context of continuing changes in the labour market and employment trends. All technical aspects of chemical engineering will be covered, and all learning systems and processes including assessment, accreditation, curriculum development and transformation, design, diversity, distance education, e-learning, entrepreneurship programmes, industry-academic linkages, benchmarking, lifelong learning, multidisciplinary programmes, outreach from kindergarten to high school programmes, student recruitment and retention and transition programmes, new technology, problem-based learning, social responsibility and professionalism, teamwork, and web-based learning. The journal will publish three types of contribution: Educational Research Papers: These papers should address an issue or topic such as those described above in an accepted objective manner; Teaching and Learning Notes: These papers will describe innovative approaches to chemical and biomolecular engineering education. Any claims to the benefits of particular approaches or techniques must be verified by the use of appropriate subjective measures such as properly-designed surveys, focus groups and interviews; Resource Reviews: Reviews of new educational resources such as textbooks and software packages are welcome, but only after they have been used in practice for at least one year.
