The primary objective of this Journal is to enhance the continuing professional development of the non-financial manager. Over the past decade many organisations in both the public and private sectors have undergone periods of significant change and the range of competence required by managers has crossed functional boundaries. The papers and articles we plan to publish will focus on managerial finance, which has been defined as”that part of management concerned with identifying, presenting and interpreting information used for: formulating strategy; planning and controlling activities; decision taking; optimising the use of resources; disclosure to shareholders and others external to the entity; disclosure to employees; and safeguarding assets.
