Publication of articles in immunology has surprisingly taken place at a very high rate for decades, and there is as yet no sign that research in this interesting field of human endeavor will subside in the near future. Interest as well as research activities in the academic forums in Iran have also grown considerably. Not many immunologists find the opportunity to have their articles published in European or North American Journals; therefore a significant number of journals are circulated in Farsi. Nevertheless English is the prevailing language of scientific communication all over the world, and publication of research works in any other language will considerably limit the number of readers. The present Journal will try to establish a medium of communication between researchers, clinicians, scientists and post-graduate students in Asia and in the world at large. The Editorial Board of the Journal is well aware that there is a severe shortage of journals in Asia to encompass the basic and clinical research taking place in the field of immunology, and hopes that publication of such a Journal would be welcomed by researchers and academics in universities and related centers in Asia.
