IC: Scientific Journal of Information and Communication

ISSN (printed): 1696-2508. ISSN (electronic): 2173-1071.

The Scientific Journal of Information and Communication was launched with the clear purpose of serving as a dissemination channel for Latin-American researchers and thinkers in the field of social communication. Associated with the Department of Journalism I of Seville University, the journal attempts to combine a manifest scientific vocation with the intention of serving as a platform for projecting new perspectives, approaches and positions of renowned academicians and thinkers, and young researchers, contributing to the analysis, reflection, debate and theoretical criticism of those for whom communication is not restricted to a set of techniques and professional knowledge. Published by the publishing department of Seville University, IC is an annual journal open to contributions from multiple disciplines and knowledge fields whose epistemological core is based on socio-communicative processes. Of a decidedly innovative nature, the journal contains the studies and discussions of intellectuals from different fields (philosophers, sociologists, psychologists, philologists, historians, economists, etc.) involved in the unclassifiable nuances of information and modern public communication. The journal’s content and editorial policy give, however, precedence to the areas, subjects and subfields of both basic and applied communication research.
