International Journal of Biodiversity. The taxonomical collections committee from the Institute of Biological Sciences at Federal University of Minas Gerais is devoted to integrating and divulging the knowledge on Brazilian biodiversity. For this reason, the members of the committee are investing on several activities. Among these, one we have special appreciation for is the edition of a scientific journal called Lundiana. This name is a homage to a Danish naturalist who lived in Minas Gerais state devoting his life to botany, zoology and, especially, to palaeontology. This journal was created two decades ago by the Department of Zoology and had only two issues published. Today, as a journal for the study of biodiversity on its several perspectives (Biogeography, Conservation, Ecology, Evolution and Taxonomy) mainly from the Neotropical region, the committee wants this to be, not just an institutional journal, but also a vehicle for the scientific community at large.
