Die Zeitschrift präsentiert den internationalen Dialog mit den in Praxis, Theorie und Forschung tätigen und an der psychoanalytischen Selbstpsychologie interessierten Psychotherapeuten und Psychoanalytikern sowie Interessenten aus anderen wissenschaftlichen Disziplinen. Die Beiträge diskutieren die theoretischen Grundlagen und die klinische Praxis der psychoanalytischen Selbstpsychologie. Darüber hinaus soll der wissenschaftliche Austausch von Information zur psychoanalytischen Selbstpsychologie innerhalb Europas, insbesondere hinsichtlich behandlungstechnischer Fragen, gefördert und die Fort- und Weiterbildung angeregt werden. The journal discusses and develops the theoretical foundations and clinical practice of psychoanalytic self psychology. To accomplish these goals, a dialogue between those psychoanalysts and psychotherapists working in practice, theory and research and at the same time those interested in psychoanalytic self psychology as well as researchers of other disciplines is to be created. Moreover, the scientific exchange of psychoanalytic self psychology within Europe, especially with regard to the technical questions of treatment, will be promoted. Advanced education is to be stimulated, too. Further, a discussion among psychoanalytic self psychology, drive theory as well as object relational theories in psychoanalysis will be encouraged.
