Economic Change and Restructuring

ISSN (printed): 1573-9414. ISSN (electronic): 1574-0277.

Since the early 1990s with the beginning of the market creation process, the economies in transition have consolidated positive experience in creating the basic market institutions and copying the main reform policy package. The wide disparities among the countries indicate the variety of paths as well as the complexity of such processses, which require further effort in analysis and study. Economic Change and Restructuring (formerly `Economics of Planning') started with the rise of research on transitional economies and has been growing strongly since the transition. To keep abreast with the developments in the current research, the scope of the journal has been expanded, enlarging the attention to policy research and economic analysis. In addition to high quality contributions on economic modelling, the journal aims to discuss innovative approaches for economic analysis and policy making for the development and integration of economies under transition. Topics of the journal include, but are not limited to: Macroeconomic issues, Fiscal issues, Financial and banking issues, Local development and regional issues, Industrial development and other sectorial topics, Methodology. The journal aspires to publish cutting edge research, both theoretical and empirical, on all economic and policy aspects of transitional economies and to serve as THE forum for economists and policy makers working in these fields.
