Discontinued in 2008. Continued by Journal of Integrative Environmental Sciences (1943-815X). Environmental Sciences are in transition. New interpretations of environmental change, together with new approaches to environmental management, are leading to more integrated research agendas which cherish interdisciplinarity, interrelationships between social and natural processes, and connections between different scales of enquiry. Environmental Sciences: The Journal of Integrative Environmental Research (ES) is an international journal providing an interdisciplinary forum for the publication of research into contemporary environmental issues. It brings together perspectives from a wide range of disciplines and methodologies in the effort to develop integrative knowledge about the social and natural processes responsible for environmental change. The journal is especially concerned with the relationships between science, society and policy and a key aim is to advance understanding of the theory and practice of sustainable development.
