The International Journal of Asian Studies (IJAS) is an interdisciplinary, English-language forum for research in the social sciences and humanities. IJAS examines Asia on a regional basis, emphasising patterns and tendencies that go beyond the borders of individual countries. While the Journal covers all regions of Asia, the primary focus will be on eastern Asia, that is, Korea, China, Taiwan, Vietnam and Japan. As well as encouraging contributions from western scholars, IJAS will focus attention on the work of Asian scholars, in order to encourage multi-directional communication across the international Asian studies community. It will consist of both themed and general issues.
