Max Weber Studies

ISSN: 1470-8078.

The last two decades have seen an outpouring of books, articles, and new shcolarly editions of Max Weber's writings. Against the backdrop of the death of Marxism, the so-called end of history, and the cultural turn in the social sciences, Weber's work appears prescient and remains highly salient to contemporary debates in social theory and social science. Since its appearance in 2000, the journal has established itself as the premier forum for international debate in Weber Studies. It is committed to the development, application and dissemination of Max Weber's idea. Max Weber Studies promotes fundamental issues: the dilemmas of leading a life and pursuing a vocation in a rationalizing world, the claims to universal validity of modern science and culture, the so-called uniqueness of the historial development of the West, notions of stratification and power, and the development of the social and historical sciences.
