The first issue of the journal was published in 1954, entitled Collection of Papers – Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University of Belgrade. Institute for Geography (Recueil de travaux – Faculté des Sciences de l'Université de Belgrade. Institute de géographie). The online edition started in 2013. Today, the journal has a significant place in the Serbian geographical science, but it is clearly oriented towards the international scientific cooperation, which makes it also prominent in international scientific circles. The journal is dedicated to publishing scientific articles in the field of geography and other sciences with a apparent spatial dimension, such as spatial planning, ecology, demography, tourismology, as well as articles of an interdisciplinary character, which together contribute to the understanding of geospatial systems. The journal publishes: Original scientific articles (with previously unpublished results of own scientific research); Review articles (containing original, detailed and critical review of the research problem in which the author made appropriate contribution, noticeable on the basis of auto-citations); Short or Preliminary reports (original scientific articles, smaller in size or preliminary in nature); Scientific critiques or debates (on a scientific topic – based exclusively on the scientific argumentations); Book reviews and reviews of scientific events.
