Gene Function & Disease
Gene Funct Dis

ISSN (printed): 1438-7506. ISSN (electronic): 1438-826x.

In the quest to understand the function(s) of newly identified genes in human biology and pathogenesis a determined world-wide effort will be made in fundamental biomedical research in the decades to come. By launching the journal Gene Function & Disease Wiley-VCH expects to pioneer in the publication of the results of high-quality basic research that is firmly anchored in molecular biology and addresses problems of clinical importance. As the borders between traditional disciplines in biology and medicine have become blurred the editorial board will evaluate manuscripts assigned to the following sections: Bioinformatics Comparative Models for Genetic Disease Developmental Biology Gene Structure and Function Genetic Variability Medical Molecular Genetics Molecular Aspects of Infectious Disease Pharmacogenetics Proteomics Tumor Biology. Other fields will not be excluded although it is understood that the results presented in a submitted manuscript do relate to the solution of biomedical problems at the molecular and/or genetic levels. Each manuscript will be reviewed by at least two referees before a decision on acceptance will be made. The journal strives to be equally attractive to basic researchers and clinicians both as readers and contributors.
