Mutation Research: Mutation Research Genomics
Mutat Res Mutat Res Genom

ISSN: 1383-5726.

This section of Mutation Research publishes papers both online and in hard copy on the nature and consequences of genome variations in humans and appropriate model systems. Focus will be on experimental approaches, instrumentation, and informatics technologies useful for measuring and characterizing genetic variation, including:1. the application of DNA sequence information defining the extent and nature of polymorphisms;2. new methods to study gene function, especially whole genome approaches;3. the relationship between genotype and phenotype, including methods that establish the relationship between DNA sequence, protein structure and function and disease susceptibility;4. application of knowledge from genome research to problems of radiation and chemical mutagenesis. This section will also accept 1 - 2 page communications of critically annotated DNA sequences, protein sequences or protein structures which will be linked to the existing databases. The purpose of these communications is to provide the reader with a more in depth biological analysis than is traditionally available through databases alone.
