Medicine, Conflict and Survival is an international journal for medical and health professionals and for peace researchers. It covers: the cultural and biological causes of war and group violence, the medical and environmental effects of war and preparations for war, especially with nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction, and their influence on health and welfare services and the distribution of global resources, other forms of group violence and abuse of human rights, the ethical responsibility of health professionals in relation to war, other social violence and human rights abuses, non-violent methods of conflict resolution, medical and humanitarian aid in conflict situations, the interaction of environmental issues such as population growth, underdevelopment and resource depletion with global security and the risk of armed conflict.
