ISSN: 1359-7566.

The political significance of regions has grown dramatically over the last twenty years. Regional-level input into EU decision-making has intensified since the Maastricht Treaty. Movements for regional autonomy have revived interest in territorial politics and territorial conflict across Europe and beyond. And globalization has made redundant some of the roles traditionally performed by the nation-state, placing an onus on regions to step in and fill the gap, particularly in economic development. The processes of regionalization and federalization have therefore become common. Regional and Federal Studies is at the forefront of the social science debate in exploring these issues. It is a fully refereed journal, has a global scope, and is essential reading for both academics and practitioners in politics and administration.
