The Journal focused exclusively on technical cooperation/technical assistance. It was designed to provide a forum and to address the professional needs of practitioners and researchers in the field of international technical cooperation. As such the Journal fulfilled five principal objectives: gave prominence to innovative ideas, stimulated discussion between partners in technical cooperation, brought together the views and experiences of donors, beneficiaries/recipients and specialists in the field, documented case studies and reports of general interest, contributed to the emergence of a systematic body of theory and practice. The Journal was initially sponsored by the United Nations Development Programme, The World Bank and a number of bilateral agencies but did not necessarily reflect their views. This journal is no longer published. Some back issues are available.
