The Journal of Educational Media is devoted to advancing the effective use of media of all kinds in teaching, learning, training and related areas. 'Media' for the journal include communications media and use of the internet and other appropriate technologies. JEM is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal addressing substantive issues concerning the research and practice of educational media. A wide range of application areas, insights and methodologies is represented, from such fields as media studies, psychology, educational technology and sociology. The readership ranges from researchers to media developers and other practitioners, teachers of media studies and advanced students. JEM favours articles and reviews (including reviews of important developments, conferences and symposia) that are of interest and value in all regions of the world. It welcomes original, balanced and understandable papers informed by, or based upon, grounded theory, industry best practice, personal experience or empirical research. Review papers are expected to develop new codifications or new views of an area. JEM welcomes suggestions for themed special focus issues and guest editors.
