ISSN (printed): 1354-2516. ISSN (electronic): 1439-1104.

Invertebrate Neuroscience The journal publishes peer-reviewed research papers short communications methods papers and reviews describing recent advances in the field of invertebrate neuroscience. Special emphasis is placed on studies using molecular and cell biology methods to elucidate mechanisms of nervous system development and function. A special feature is the availability of additional on-line publication of supplementary material such as color figures three dimensional figures sequence data alignments and sequence comparisons animations short videos etc. at no cost to authors. This material will be referred to in the printed article but will appear only in the on-line version. Aspects of particular interest include: Functional analysis of the invertebrate nervous system Molecular neuropharmacology and toxicology Neurogenetics and genomics Functional anatomy Neurodevelopment Neuronal networks Molecular and cellular mechanisms of behavior Although purely descriptive studies will be considered preference is given to molecular cellular and anatomical studies that focus on elucidating mechanisms of nervous system development and function.
