Founded in 1995 by the Association for the Study of Modern Italy, the journal Modern Italy focuses on nineteenth- and twentieth-century Italian studies. The journal deals with Italian history and politics together with the social, economic and cultural aspects of Italy, Italian affairs and the Italian peoples. Now published twice yearly by Carfax Publishing, the journal continues to provide: refereed articles a regular 'Contexts and Debates' section featuring current controversies in Italian studies and commentaries on contemporary and historical themes review articles and a comprehensive book reviews section covering the latest Italian and English publications in Italian studies conference reports and exhibition reviews regular special theme issues Association for the Study of Modern Italy Founded in 1982 by Christopher Seton-Watson, the Association for the Study of Modern Italy (ASMI) brings together individuals and organizations from the UK and abroad with teaching, research, professional or general interests in nineteenth- and twentieth-century Italy from whatever discipline. ASMI organizes an annual conference, publishes a bi-annual newsletter, and sponsors conferences, seminars, lectures and exhibitions in the UK and abroad.
