Journal Poredbeno pomorsko pravo (PPP) = Comparative Maritime Law (CML) is a peer-reviewed open access journal published once per year by Adriatic Institute (Zagreb, Croatia). It was founded in 1958 as Uporedno pomorsko pravo i pomorska kupoprodaja (Comparative Maritime Law and Maritime Contracts of Sale). At the 1950s there were still no adequate legislation relating to shipping in Yugoslavia. Adriatic Institute was charged with the preparation and drafting of maritime legislation and regulations for the entire community. So the aim of this periodical publication was to solve scientific and practical problems of maritime law; propose rules of maritime trade and transport law; provide current information on legal instruments in the field of martime economy and overseas trade. At the beginning main topics were contracts of sale, contracts of carriage and comparative view of legislation. Then some authors wrote about history of shipping, shipping economy and fishing problems in the Adriatic Sea. At present the high-priority themes are the most interesting problems of maritime law, transport law and the international law of the sea.
