The journal Phainomena was the first specialized journal for the phenomenological and hermeneutic philosophy in Middle and East Europe after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Its main role is still to get together philosophers from this geographical area, and at the same time, in co-laboration with the philosophers from North and South America, Japan and China as well as Africa, open up global perspectives of the phenomenological and hermeneutic philosophy.
