The European Journal of Economic and Social Systems, founded in 1988 (under the title Revue Internationale de Systémique / International Review of Systems Science) addresses complex or system approaches of problems in the areas of economics, management, organizational and all social sciences. Its goal is to publish in the same place research from any part of the world relevant to evolutionary, self-organizing, cognitive or dynamic systems from fields, such as economics (micro or macro), management, sociology, political sciences, history... It encourages applied, theoretical, experimental and computational articles that concern or link economics and social sciences from this view point. The journal supports the development and the application of the evolutionary-systemic viewpoint in the field of social sciences. Its purpose is to promote the development and the use of system and nonlinear models, cognitive and learning analysis, computer simulations, out-of-equilibrium approach among economics and social sciences. The term "science" is used in a broad sense to include a large spectrum of methods and approaches. Articles may deal with methodological themes, such as system theory, cognitive sciences, information and communication theory, neural networks, cellular automata, computer modelling (no exhaustive list) or with epistemology if they do not lose sight of extending knowledge pertaining to its field.
