Continuation of Revue Bryologique, founded by P.T. Husnot in 1874, and of Cryptogamie Bryologie-Lichénologie.Lichens, lichenious ascomycetes, will be grouped together with mushrooms in the Cryptogamie Mycologie section starting in 1999. The journal publishes articles on bryophytes, covering all fields (taxonomy, systematics, bio-diversity, collections, history of science, utilization, biochemistry, physiology, ethno-botany, ecology ...).It includes monographs (Riccia de S. Jovet-Ast) as well as issues devoted to the work of R.B. Pierrot (bryophytes of France), H. Bischler-Causse (systematics of hepatics), and A. Bellemère (lichenized or non-lichenized ascomycetes).
