The study of such complex concepts as the tree and the forest ecosystem requires a highly multidisciplinary approach. Appearing every two months, the Annals of Forest Science publishes research papers related to trees and forests, in the form of review papers, original papers and notes. The journal is particularly interested in: environmental factors (e.g., ecology, pedology, climatology), silviculture (dendrometry, growth laws, treatments), genetics and improvement, physiology (e.g., development, ecophysiology, nutrition, in vitro culture), forest damage (e.g., entomology, pathology, atmospheric pollution, fire, etc.), wood quality (e.g., biological determinism, rheology, etc.). Many articles deal with the interaction between the above-mentioned disciplines in temperate regions ranging from cold to Mediterranean and mountain forest; articles on tropical forest are also welcome. The journal is aimed at research foresters throughout the world and hopes to answer the needs of professional foresters. Annals of Forest Science is therefore a source of information of current developments and trends in forestry.
