Analele Universităţii "Al. I. Cuza", Seria Geologie deals with a multidisciplinary coverage of a large range of fields in geology and geochemistry; the articles published in this journal cover both mere scientific topics and geosciences topics having economic issues. The journal encourages the exchange of concepts and data, in particular to promote sustainable development of a large range of topics in geosciences. In addition to research papers, AUI-G will contain review articles, case histories and book reviews. Starting with 2009, the journal will have 2 issues (issue LV/1, 2009 has been published already) so the journal becomes semiannual.
