The Romanian Journal of Mineral Deposits continues the series of “Dări de seamă ale şedinţelor” (Proceedings of the Geological Institute of Romania). Dări de seamă ale şedinţelor was edited by the Geological Institute of Romania, which changed its name as follows: Institutul Geologic al Romaniei (1910-1952), Comitetul Geologic (1953-1966), Comitetul de Stat al Geologiei (1967-1969), Institutul Geologic (1970-1974), Institutul de Geologie şi Geofizică (1975-1993), Institutul Geologic al Romaniei (1994-present). Dări de seamă ale şedinţelor was published as one multidisciplinary series from 1910 to 1969, then it was published as five specialized series: 1. Mineralogy-Petrology-Geochemistry; 2. Deposits; 3. Paleontology; 4. Stratigraphy; 5. Tectonics and regional geology. The Romanian Journal of Mineral Deposits continues series 2. Deposits, which was the main journal where the Romanian geologists published the results of their study of mineral resources. In the present, the Romanian Journal of Mineral Deposits is the official publication of the Society of Economic Geology of Romania. It publishes two issues per year, containing scientific articles, reviews, notes and discussions, which concern various aspects of the mineral resources (in their broadest meaning, including energy resources and mineral water) and their host rocks. All articles are published in English and are peer-reviewed by two scientists selected by the Editorial Board.
