The journal Yearbook of the Institute of History, Cluj-Napoca (formerly Anuarul Institutului de Istorie Naþionalã and Anuarul Institutului de Istorie ºi Arheologie Cluj-Napoca) was founded in 1922 by the Institute of National History of the University of Cluj. It received the present name of Yearbook of the Institute of History, Cluj-Napoca in 1990. It is now published in one volume a year with a total average number of pages of 350-400. The journal publishes original papers written in Romanian, but also in English, French, German or Italian in any area of medieval, modern and contemporary history. The topics cover all branches of Romanian and World History: international relations, political history, social history, historical demography, cultural history, history of totalitarian regimes etc. In addition to presentation of researches, the Yearbook of the Institute of History, Cluj-Napoca publishes reports of international conferences held in Cluj-Napoca and book reviews. All manuscripts are strictly refereed and only papers of high quality are accepted for publication. The journal is addressed to historians and other as well as to any person interested in history. The journal has in present a number of 90 subscriptions and about 100 exchanges with journals of repute from all over the world.
