The focus of Applied Health Economics and Health Policy is economics in an 'applied' and 'policy' context. It encourages multidisciplinary analyses and team-based projects involving academics, policy analysts and health professionals. Internationally, economists are late entrants to the many health debates. Applied Health Economics and Health Policy addresses the contribution of economics to those debates, and promotes international dialogue. The issues, not the economic techniques, therefore define the boundaries of the questions put forward in this journal. Economists and those working in the health policy area easily recognise the value of this unique approach.
