Discontinued in 2007. This annual volume, first published in 1998 provides the latest thinking from nationally recognized experts on policy issues affecting grades K-12. The 1998 issue focused on the state of student performance in American schools. The 1999 issue focused on urban issues in education. The theme of the 2000 issue is reauthorization of the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act. The new 2001 volume analyzes efforts to establish rigorous academic standards for student performance.
