Journal of Transportation and Statistics
J Transport Stat

ISSN: 1094-8848.

Discontinued. The Journal of Transportation and Statistics (JTS) is a scholarly, peer-reviewed journal sponsored by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). Its 25-member Editorial Board is made up of prominent individuals in academia and DOT. The journal serves the transportation community by increasing the understanding of the role of transportation in society, its function in the economy, and its interactions with the environment. In addition, the JTS provides a forum for the latest developments in transportation information and data, theory, concepts, and methods of analysis relevant to all aspects of the transportation system. The JTS publishes original research on the use of statistical and economic analysis to improve public and private decisionmaking for transportation. We are soliciting contributions that broadly support this objective. Examples of the type of material sought include: measuring transportation activity and the performance of transportation systems; advancing the science of acquiring, validating, managing, and disseminating transportation information; analyzing the interaction of transportation and the economy; measuring how transportation affects the environment. JTS will continue to focus on data, description and analysis and will explicitly avoid policy studies. Recognizing that transportation systems are increasingly interconnected on a global level, the JTS seeks articles on both domestic and international subjects.
