Journal of Latin American Anthropology
J Lat Am Anthropol

ISSN (printed): 1085-7052. ISSN (electronic): 1548-7180.

Discontinued in 2006. Continued by Journal of Latin American and Caribbean Anthropology (1935-4932). The Journal of Latin American Anthropology is a peer-reviewed journal of anthropological research on Latin America, which is published in English, Spanish, and Portuguese with abstracts in two languages (either Spanish and English or Portuguese and English). We understand "Latin America" to include those geographic areas which are usually referred to with the expressions "Central America," "South America," and "the Caribbean"--including the areas and islands with populations who are not native speakers of Spanish. This inclusion should allow for systematic, fertile, and intellectually stimulating comparisons, which have not been sufficiently explored in publications about the region. The Journal of Latin American Anthropology is published semiannually.
