The journal provides a needed scholarly outlet for work focusing on quality, defined very broadly (e.g., quality of goods and services, customer value, continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, etc.). The journal will publish manuscripts focusing on the quality theme from various disciplines, including strategy, human resources, marketing, organizational behavior, organizational theory, operations, management, and quantitative analysis. The only restriction is that the papers focus on management and achieving goals and objectives through employees. Theoretical and empirical pieces, as well as applications, will be published. Field, laboratory, and case studies, as well as descriptive/qualitative methodologies will be considered. The primary purpose of this journal is to provide a forum for scholarly examination of quality-related management issues. The journal seeks to publish work that advances theoretical understanding as well as improves practice. The journal will be interdisciplinary in its scope due to the broad and applied nature of the topic of appropriate and effective management of people in a quality organizational context. In addition, while the primary focus will be an academic audience, the content of the journal will draw the interest of practitioners. Implications for practice and the general issue of practical relevance will be important.
