This is the first refereed interdisciplinary journal in the United States to serve as a forum for social scientists engaged in the analysis of the unique struggles and triumphs of black males. Journal of African American Men challenges current stereotypes and identifies strategies and policies that can counter the unique problems black men face. It is a multidisciplinary forum covering theory, research, and methodology. The official journal of the National Council of African American Men, it is published in collaboration with the David Walker Research Institute, Michigan State University.
