Those involved are kept informed of the views and debates current in the field enabling them to focus on methodological and best practice issues and facilitating debate on issues of policy concern related research issues and applications. In particular the journal encourages a fusion between tourism and hospitality approaches to research aiming to make research practice across the fields available to both subject areas. Taking this one step further the journal also aims to keep abreast of those developments in other disciplines that impinge upon the tourism and hospitality subject areas as well as publishing research papers of interest to other subject areas and disciplines. A unique feature of the journal builds on the annual Progress in Tourism Recreation and Hospitality Management book series by providing reviews and synthesis of previous work as well as future research agendas in the subfields of both subject areas. The scope of the journal is international and encompasses both tourism and hospitality. It includes any high quality papers of interest and relevance to researchers in the field but will specifically feature: Research. Reviews and consolidation of previous research examination of research methodology recounting research projects and findings research notes and information on research in progress. Field correlation. Papers overtly linking tourism and hospitality. Policy. Papers detailing key policy debates. Key contributors. Invited contributions from leading researchers and commentators in the field. Statistics. Annual reviews of tourism statistics. Conference reviews and critiques. Book reviews. The content of the journal is a mix of primary research reviews consolidating previous work and papers providing future research agendas and issues of concern. Papers focusing on the role and practice of research in policy and business are also welcomed as are contributions from those working in cognate subject areas and disciplines in addition to those from active researchers in the tourism and hospitality fields. All papers are subject to strict double blind peer review by the international research community.
