This journal focuses broadly on the neurology and neurobiology of HIV-1 infection and AIDS. Its goal is to advance the understanding of the neurobiological aspects and the clinical complications of HIV-1 infection and to rapidly publish new information pertaining to these issues. Articles may range in scope from speculative reviews and commentary to original clinical reports. Included in the scope of the Journal of Neuro-AIDS will be: Clinical Aspects of the Neurological Complications and Therapy of HIV and AIDS including: -the direct effects of HIV-1 on the central and peripheral nervous systems,-opportunistic infections and other secondary complications of HIV-1 infections and AIDS; Research Dealing with the Pathogenesis of the Neurological Complications of HIV-1 including-clinical research studies of HIV-1 infection bearing on pathogenesis and treatment,-animal models of HIV-1 and related retroviruses bearing on these issues,-cell culture or molecular models of HIV-1 infection pertinent to the neurobiology and therapy of HIV infection,-studies of human infection and animal models of other viruses which provide insight into HIV-1 infection pathobiology and treatment. The journal includes full-length and brief original reports. Topical reviews, editorial commentary, relevant meeting summaries, and new therapy protocols will also be included. Once yearly, a "Year in Review" issue will be devoted to detailed consideration of a single facet of HIV-1 neurobiological disease or neurobiology and contained solicited reviews.
