Early Development and Parenting

Infant and Child Development publishes empirical theoretical and methodological papers dealing with psychological development during infancy and childhood up to and including adolescence. Papers of an interdisciplinary nature are particularly encouraged. Areas covered by the journal include caregiver-child interaction cognitive development emotional development infant perception motor development parenting and development play and development precursors to language and language development and socialization. In addition to full-length papers the journal will publish research notes and book reviews. Each book review will be accompanied by a reaction from the author(s) or editor(s) of the book whenever possible. From time-to-time an issue will be devoted either to a special theme under the editorship of an invited expert or to a target article with accompanying commentaries. Anybody with plans to edit a special issue or submit a target article should contact one of the editors to discuss them. If you wish to review a particular book or monograph for the journal then you should contact the relevant book editor. The journal will not only be of interest to child and developmental psychologists but also to those working in child psychiatry and behavioural and social paediatrics.
